The chant of “We Are The Crest” rings through the camp on a daily basis and serves as a motto of who makes the Bauercrest experience: the people. While our facilities offer great spaces for activities and programs, the people are the ones who create and shape the experience of Bauercrest and this responsibility is enjoyed by our staff.
The core responsibility and philosophy for our staff is quite simple: to be professional role models for our boys in all aspects of our program. Job titles and specific responsibilities differ from person to person, but this core philosophy is the heart of a Bauercrest staff member. A professional role model is one who is an example of proper behavior and respect and for campers and staff alike, upholding the S.T.A.R. principles and leading by example for their kids and peers to follow.
The Bauercrest staff are the heart of what we do here at the Crest. Their effort, commitment, and dedication to giving our campers the best summer experience possible each summer is the fuel to what makes our program great. Many of our staff members were once former campers and each year we strive to put the best team on the field to continue our mission to deliver a safe, fun, energetic, creative, enthusiastic, supportive, valuable and amazing experience possible for our boys.
The work of a counselor is tough, but in the end, being a Bauercrest staff member is the most rewarding experience you can have this summer. The campers you will influence, the friends you will help forge for your campers and yourself, and the experience of being part of our tradition creates a feeling of accomplishment, perspective, and pride that you can’t explain. You’ll just have to experience it for yourself.
