Summer Camp Packing Hacks

Getting your child packed for camp might sound like a no-brainer, but it can easily become daunting, especially if this is your child’s first extended time away from home. Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered!

In addition to the tips below, our official Camp Mom, Stacy Pollack, has put together a list of Pack Hacks for you to download. It includes mandatory items and details about everything your child should bring to ensure a successful summer at camp. And if you live locally, you won’t want to miss Camp Shopping 101 with the Camp Mom, where Stacy will literally go shopping with you and help you check everything off your list!

Here are a few helpful tips to get you started:

  1. Pack together with your child. Use this packing list as a checklist and make it a family affair. This will help get your camper excited and will also familiarize him with where his things will be.
  2. Remember the journey home. When camp is over, your child will have to repack everything. Pack an extra copy of the packing list so your child can use it as a reference when packing up for home.
  3. Surprises are welcome. Leave a short note to tell him how excited you are for him to have this experience and that you can't wait to hear about all the fun he's having.
